Description of event:

This webinar introduces attendees to often-overlooked areas of digital preservation, namely the identification and selection of digital content to be preserved.  It follows the first two modules of the Library of Congress' Digital Preservation Outreach and Education program (DPOE), and should be helpful to institutions that are unsure of how to focus their digital preservation efforts.  This presentation is for people from any type of cultural arena (not just libraries or archives) who are interested in preserving their collections digitally.

This webinar is free-of-charge.

On May 30th from 1-4pm, Kristopher will lead an in-person workshop in which he will present information from the Library of Congress' DPOE  program that focuses on storing and protecting digital content.  You can find more details about the workshop by clicking "Storing and Protecting Digital Content over Time."

The webinar and workshop work in conjuction with each other, but either event can be taken alone.  If you are planning to attend the in-person workshop, we really encourage you to join Kristopher's webinar beforehand - either live, or view the archived webinar (posted within a week following the live webinar).
